Healing Through Late Winter's Transition
Physical Setting & Preparation
Find a quiet space near an open window or outdoors where you can feel the crisp late winter air. Arrange three objects before you: a small bowl of soil, a budding twig or early spring flower, and a vessel of clear water. Sit comfortably with your spine straight but not rigid. Allow your hands to rest palms up on your thighs, symbolizing your openness to receive healing energy from the earth. Take three deep breaths, exhaling fully each time to release any tension you're carrying.
“The wheel is never truly broken, it keeps turning. Though physical forms may change, the spirit weaves an unending thread between those who love, transcending the veil between worlds.” — Wendy

Opening Invocation | Fosgladh
Tha mi ag iarraidh beannachd na talmhainn,Anns an làtha eadar-amail seo.Eadar geamhradh agus earrach,Tha mi ag iarraidh leigheas agus neart.
I seek the blessing of the earth,On this day of transition.Between winter and spring,I seek healing and strength.
Feel the energy of the March day—the sixth day of the third month—a time of transition and preparation. The earth is awakening, though still resting beneath winter's final days. Place your attention on your breath as it flows in and out, like the tides of seasons changing. Visualize the air around you shimmering with pale green light, the color of the first spring buds waiting to emerge.
Body of the Working | Corp
Tha fuachd a' gheamhraidh fhathast ri m' thaobh,Ach tha gealladh an earraich anns an adhar.Mar sin tha mo chorp, leòinte ach a' leigheas,A' gabhail ri cumhachd ath-nuadhachaidh na talmhainn.
Winter's chill still lingers at my side,But spring's promise is in the air.So too is my body, wounded yet healing,Receiving the renewing power of the earth.
Touch the soil before you, feeling its coolness against your fingertips. This is the body of the Mother Earth, who has weathered countless winters and knows the secret rhythms of healing. Place your attention on any part of your body that feels unwell or in need of restoration. As you inhale, imagine drawing up healing energy from the depths of the earth, through the soil, through your fingertips, and into your bloodstream.
The healing energy moves like warm honey through your veins, finding every place that needs attention. It is golden-green in color, carrying the wisdom of ancient trees and the vitality of new growth. With each breath, this energy grows stronger, dissolving blockages and renewing tired cells.
The Deep Working | An Obair Dhomhain
A Mhàthair na talmhainn, tha mi ag aideachadh mo leòn,Tha mi a' leigeil leis an t-saothair mo dhol.Tha mi a' faireachdainn do làmhan blàth,A' sìneadh a-mach tro'n ùir.
Mother of the earth, I acknowledge my wound,I allow the struggle to leave me.I feel your warm hands,Reaching out through the soil.
Place both hands on the earth or bowl of soil before you. Close your eyes and visualize yourself sitting in a sheltered grove. The trees around you are still bare but their branches hold the first hints of swelling buds. The ground beneath you pulses with subtle energy, like a heart beating slowly and steadily.
As you breathe deeply, feel a connection forming between your spine and the core of the earth. This connection becomes a conduit through which healing energy flows upward. The Mother of the Earth sends her strength directly into your being, like water rising through the roots and trunk of a tree.
With each inhale, draw up this healing energy. With each exhale, release what no longer serves you—pain, illness, or resistance. The earth receives these offerings willingly, transforming them just as she transforms fallen leaves into nourishment for new growth.
Sit in this exchange for several minutes, breathing and visualizing the continuous flow of healing between yourself and the earth.
Afterthought | Smuain Dheiridh
Take a moment to contemplate:
How am I like the early March landscape—partly still in winter's rest, partly awakening to new growth? What wounded parts of myself am I ready to surrender to the earth's healing embrace? How might I honor the healing process by giving myself the patience and gentleness that the earth shows to all growing things?
Closing Blessing | Beannachd Dheiridh
Tha mi a' toirt taing dhut, a Mhàthair na talmhainn,Airson do leigheis agus do ghràdh gun chrìoch.Mar a tha 'n là seo a' dol seachad,Bidh mi a' giùlan do bheannachd leam.
I give thanks to you, Mother of the earth,For your healing and your boundless love.As this day passes,I will carry your blessing with me.
Touch the budding twig or flower before you, acknowledging the promise of growth it contains. Then touch the water, symbolizing the cleansing and renewal you've experienced. Finally, touch the soil once more in gratitude for the healing received.
Rise slowly, carrying the earth's healing energy within you. Know that just as the sixth of March marks a point on the journey from winter to spring, this meditation marks a point on your journey toward wholeness.
