Physical Setting & Preparation

Find a place where you can sit undisturbed, preferably near a window where the spring light can reach you or outdoors where you can feel the elements. Bring a small candle (safely contained) or a red stone to represent the transformative emotion we work with today. Sit with your spine straight but relaxed, feet firmly planted on the ground. Place your hands on your thighs, palms up, in a gesture of openness. Take five deep breaths, feeling your chest expand with each inhalation, noticing how the spring energy builds day by day as we approach the fullness of the season

Opening Invocation | Fosgladh

Fàilte ort, an deicheamh là fichead de Mhàrt, là de chumhachd an earraich.(Welcome to you, thirtieth day of March, a day of spring power.)

A' Mhàthair Talamh, tha mi a' faireachdainn do neart a' dùsgadh.(Mother Earth, I feel your strength awakening.)

Air an là seo, tha mi a' tighinn thugad le mo chridhe fìrinneach.(On this day, I come to you with my truthful heart.)

Visualize the landscape around you in the advancing days of spring. Feel the strengthening sunlight that warms the soil more each day. See the determined shoots pushing through the earth with unstoppable force. Hear the increasingly assertive calls of birds establishing territory and building nests. The natural world does not apologize for its power—it simply expresses what is true and necessary in each moment.

Body of the Working | Corp

Tha earrach a' tighinn, agus tha mise ann an staid de fhearg.(Spring is coming, and I am in a state of anger.)

Mar a bhriseadh lusan tron talamh cruaidh, tha fearg a' briseadh tro mo chiùineas.(As plants break through the hard earth, anger breaks through my calmness.)

A' Mhàthair Talamh, teagaisg dhomh mar a chleachdas mi an teine seo.(Mother Earth, teach me how to use this fire.)

If you have brought a candle, light it now (or hold your red stone). Observe the flame—how it transforms, how it contains both danger and benefit, how it requires respect and careful tending.

Visualize yourself standing on a hillside in early spring. The sun is strong overhead, burning away the morning mist. Below you, a controlled fire moves across a meadow, burning away dead growth from the previous year. This fire is not destructive but transformative—clearing space for new growth, returning nutrients to the soil, awakening dormant seeds that need heat to germinate.

Allow yourself to feel the anger that resides within you. Do not suppress it or judge it as wrong. Like fire, anger carries energy and information. It tells us when boundaries have been crossed, when change is needed, when something valuable is threatened.

The Deep Working | An Obair Dhomhain

A Mhàthair Talamh, gabh ri m' fhearg mar ghabhas tu ri teine an earraich.(Mother Earth, accept my anger as you accept the spring fire.)

Mar a ghlanadh teine am fearann airson fàs ùr, stiùir m' fhearg gu atharrachadh.(As fire cleans the land for new growth, guide my anger toward transformation.)

A' Mhàthair, cuidich leam an teine seo a chumail gun chron.(Mother, help me contain this fire without harm.)

Place one hand over your solar plexus, the seat of personal power. Place the other on the earth or floor beneath you. Feel the steady, grounded energy of the Mother Earth flowing up through your body, meeting and balancing the fiery energy of your anger.

Visualize the Mother of the Earth working with fire across the landscape—the lightning that splits old trees to create homes for wildlife, the volcanic activity that brings new minerals to the surface, the prairie fires that maintain ecosystem balance. She neither fears fire nor uses it recklessly. She holds it in its proper place and time.

Feel your anger being held in the wise container of the Earth Mother's embrace. She teaches you that this energy can be directed purposefully, that it can fuel necessary change and protect what is valuable. The key is not to extinguish this fire but to tend it mindfully.

Afterthought | Smuain Dheiridh

Take a moment to contemplate:

What message might my anger be carrying that requires my attention? How might I direct this powerful energy toward positive transformation rather than destruction?

Closing Blessing | Beannachd Dheiridh

A Mhàthair Talamh, taing dhut airson do ghliocais mu thimcheall teine.(Mother Earth, thank you for your wisdom regarding fire.)

Mar a chumas tu cothrom eadar losgadh is fàs, cuidich leam cothrom a chumail eadar m' fhearg is mo shìth.(As you maintain balance between burning and growing, help me maintain balance between my anger and my peace.)

Tha mi a' giùlan do mheasarrachd leam, a' Mhàthair, ann an cumhachd mo chridhe.(I carry your moderation with me, Mother, in the power of my heart.)

Gun robh beannachd ghlice na Màthar còmhla rium, an-diugh agus gach latha.(May the wise blessing of the Mother be with me, today and every day.)

If you lit a candle, extinguish it mindfully. Gradually become aware of your surroundings once more. Feel the solid ground beneath you. Listen to the sounds around you. When you are ready, open your eyes, carrying with you the understanding that anger, like fire, can be a powerful ally when approached with wisdom and respect.
