As the frost of winter grips the land, we turn inward, seeking the warmth of healing within our bodies and spirits. Today’s meditation draws upon the ancient energies of the earth, the sky, and the sacred flow of life to mend what ails us and restore our vitality.
Preparation
Find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed. Sit or lie comfortably, ensuring your body is supported. Close your eyes and take a deep breath in through your nose, feeling your lungs fill completely. Exhale slowly, letting any tension melt away.
Repeat this breath three more times, allowing yourself to fully arrive in the present moment.
Invocation of Healing Energy
Place your hands gently over your heart. Begin to speak softly:
Glaodhàim ort, a Dhia na slàinte, a Dhàmhan na beatha.(I call on you, God of healing, powers of life.)
Imagine a soft, golden light beginning to glow beneath your hands, spreading warmth and comfort throughout your chest. Visualize this light flowing through your veins, bringing renewal to every cell, every tissue, every organ.
Grounding in the Earth
Now, picture roots growing from your body into the earth beneath you. These roots draw strength and healing energy upward from the soil, rich with nutrients and life force.
Speak the following:
Tha an talamh a’ slànachadh mo chorp, a’ glanadh gach galar is bròn.(The earth heals my body, cleansing every illness and sorrow.)
Feel this energy rising through your roots and into your body, fortifying your immune system and repairing any harm. Take a moment to focus on areas of discomfort or illness, imagining them bathed in this healing energy.
Invoking the Waters of Life
Turn your attention to the sacred waters that flow within and around us. Envision a crystal-clear stream flowing gently through your body, washing away toxins and leaving purity in its wake.
Whisper:
Thig na h-uisgeachan beò, a’ beannachadh agus a’ glanadh mo chorp.(Let the living waters come, blessing and cleansing my body.)
Feel gratitude for the waters that sustain all life, and for their power to restore balance within you.
Closing and Blessing
When you feel ready, bring your awareness back to your breath. Rest your hands in your lap or by your sides, palms facing upward to symbolize openness to continued healing.
Conclude with these words:
Bèannachd an Dàmhan na slàinte dhomhsa, is leig le m’ anam soirbheachadh.(Blessings of the powers of healing be upon me, and let my spirit flourish.)
Open your eyes gently, knowing that the energies of healing are working within you and will continue to flow in the hours and days ahead. Carry this peace with you, and be kind to yourself as your body heals.
